Copy rewrites that ship
Last updated:
Before→after copy only pays when it ships on the live public URL. SiteRevenue drafts are tickets — headline, CTA, form eyebrow — not brand-approved finals or legal review. Pick the action-box rewrite, put it live, then re-audit for a letter-grade strip. See the sample rewrites and how to read a report.
What good looks like
- One headline, one CTA, one form eyebrow shipped from the action box — not a 40-string localization pass.
- Rationale kept in the PR so the next person knows why the verb changed.
- Live on the URL you audit (CDN/cache cleared), not only on staging.
- Ads and landing move together when the rewrite is a message match fix.
- Re-audit after ship so you get v1 letter → v2 letter, not a debate about the draft.
The sample shows three copy-paste rows (hero, primary CTA pair, form eyebrow) with a one-line why.
Common gotchas
- Rewriting everything at once so you cannot tell which line moved the grade.
- Brand committee stall — the draft sits in a doc while paid clicks hit the old H1.
- Staging-only ship. The audit recaptures the public URL; preview hosts do not count.
- Changing the ad or the LP, not both, then calling the leftover mismatch “the model.”
- Treating drafts as legal, compliance, or brand-final. They are not.
- Skipping the action box to polish finding #7 first.
- Re-running the same live HTML to see if the model “changes its mind” — that burns a credit. See when to re-audit.
How SiteRevenue scores it
Rewrites are a full-report module, not a teaser feature. They come from structured rewrites or from finding suggested copy. Empty jobs omit the section — the UI will not invent a before/after.
Each row is a draft: before, after, rationale. Use them as tickets. Dimension scores (0–10, higher = healthier) tell you which slice to rewrite first; the action box caps that list at three this week.
Unlocking the $19 page file captures the public page again. After you ship, re-audit for a comparable letter grade. Dollar bands stay estimates. Path-step rewrites belong on the URL that broke — grade it on the home form.
Ship this week
| Change | Effort | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Ship the #1 action-box rewrite on the live URL | S | One line in production beats a deck of options |
| Match the form eyebrow to that same job | S | Rewrites fail if the ask disagrees |
| Clear CDN/cache; confirm view-source on a phone | S | The next job must see the new HTML |
| Re-audit the same site for a letter-grade strip | S (one credit) | File of record, not a vibe check |
If you do not have a paid report yet, start with a free grade and the sample rewrite table.
